Welcome to Julia for Data Science

Julia for Data Science started in 2021 as a newsletter hosted on Ghost — a subscription platform for independent publishers. The goal was simple: high-quality articles to help people learn Julia with an emphasis on data science, covering topics like performance tips, package tours, and hands-on tutorials.

A New Home

In 2025, the site moved from Ghost to Quarto, an open-source scientific publishing system. The motivations were straightforward:

• No vendor lock-in — content lives in plain Markdown files under version control
• Free to host — deployed to GitHub Pages via GitHub Actions
• Better for technical content — native support for executable Julia code, LaTeX math, and syntax highlighting

All posts from the Ghost era have been preserved and are still available here.
